Channel 4 attacked over interview with murderer.
From
the Liverpool Daily Post (12th May 2005) comes this story:
"YOKO
ONO yesterday attacked a Channel 4 decision to broadcast an
interview with John Lennon's killer.
"The 25th anniversary of the day Lennon was shot
five times outside the star's home in New York is in
December this year and Lennon would have been 65 on October 9 this
year.
As part of a series of programmes to mark the
anniversaries, Channel 4 is reported to be planning to show an interview
from a prison cell.
"Yoko Ono said: "I think that it's horrible
for Channel 4 to do this.
""Myself, John's family and so many fans
will be hurt by the showing of such a programme."
"The plans have also been attacked by Beatles
fan clubs across the world, many noting the irony that
the motivation behind the murder was to achieve celebrity."

Lucy
Carter has set up an online petition objecting to the
broadcast of the programme. If you'd like to sign --
it'd be especially good if you're in the UK -- you can find
