Hello from Paris !
I don't know how to say my happiness to have
join all of you for my first Beatle's Week !
It was wonderful to meet and talk with many people of all the world and to
discover how our BOYS are still beloved.
The bands were super mainly THE QUARRYMEN from Argentina and THE BEATVOX from
Japan.
After PAUL in Paris in last June I was delighted to go with my daughter in
Liverpool. It was really touching because I always spoke to her of the fabulous
boys from my childhood.
Maybe see you next year.....I'll send photos
further.
Regards

Once again, we had a WHALE
of a time at this year's Beatle Week! We just never stopped dancing! The bands
were fabulous: our favourites were the awesome Fab Faux, the incredible Rocks
Off, the Overtures, the Quarrymen, the Prellies, the Beat Brothers and George
Harry's Son. The week was one mad whirlwind of fun and laughter. Thanks to all
our friends, the bands and all at CCT for making it so special. Can't wait till
the next one! :)

As always, I had a great time and
I'm suffering from post BW-Blues (and
insomnia). Glad to see this new scrapbook has
really taken off. This was my 9th time at BW
and it was nice to see 2 bands I've been following
celebrate their 10th year in Liverpool. I wondered
how Clube Big Beatle would be without Saulo but
new guy Leo fits in well and I just loved their jazzy
version of Eleanor Rigby. For the first time, I saw
Liverpool's shows in the Cavern with the great Bank
Holiday Liverpool public, which was a surreal experience.
I never realised until now how restrained us
BW regulars are when we watch/talk to good looking band
members. Taking about the Cavern, I have got to mention
DJ Stevie P. who really seemed to come into his own
this year. All I can say is sausage (or Swas-sage,
if you're posh).
Congratulations Gilly & Paul on your
Anniversary, but it was the return of another
pair of love birds that was a highlight of
mine this week, the Instant Karma Bed-In/Cutting
Happening. I just love Victoria's interpretation
of Yoko. She makes her so loveable. There was
great charisma between her and Jon Keats.
It was wonderful to welcome back the Overtures. I've
seen them a few times back home, but it's the Beatle
Week stage that is their natural home. CCT you have
got to invite them back next year, if only to see
Phil's longer guitar solos on "Baby Please
Don't Go", "Pinball Wizard"
& "Jumping Jack Flash". You're in for
such a treat.
Favourite new band for me this year was Acustika.
The all girl band from Brazil who are a cross
between The Corrs & L7. Their best show
was in the Cavern on Tuesday when they were
joined by "God Save The Queen's"
Freddie "Pablo" Mercury for " I Want To Break Free".
Talking of whom, well done Neil for "saving" heir
show at Pierhead. Pablo looked really unhappy as his
voice steadily went and we all enjoyed the sing-a-long.
To be honest, we were expecting you to sing
more songs yourself. The real stars of the week are
the people I meet each year, it wouldn't be such an
event without them! Thanks to everyone at CCT and I'll
see you all next year :)
