Bitch Cassidy is the project of songwriters Shawn Sullivan and Mike Borgia. Hailing from Canada and NYC respectively, both artists have reputations for creating hook-laden rock songs which triggered their meeting in Syracuse, NY where the two teamed up for multiple endeavors. Their latest venture, Bitch Cassidy, has already been creating quite a buzz online receiving thousands of song plays and downloads and multiple pre-sales for their debut EP, The Gift and the Sickness. The level of musicianship and professionalism found on their debut EP is incredibly rare for an unsigned band. Bitch Cassidy could slide right into rotation nearly anywhere and not for one second sound out of place. That’s not to say its unoriginal or derivative, quite the opposite. Its simplistic rock music, but the honesty and depth set it light years apart.  Borgia and Sullivan are now living in Raleigh, NC and continue to spread their contagious music to the ever growing NC music scene.

Songsmiths Mike Borgia and Shawn Sullivan have already been involved with music for quite some time but "The Gift And The Sickness" is their first release under the name Bitch Cassidy. Lemme just get it out... the six songs on this EP completely blew me away. They rock from beginning to end with tons of awesome melodic action. They remind me of some of the better rock outfits that came out in the nineties and that you just don't hear enough anymore these days. Wish every release I review sprung from the same passion for music and professionalism as "The Gift And The Sickness".
