Born
1955 in Niagara Falls, New York
a small city which has produced some of the
USA's best guitarists Charlie Guitar has been playing since
the 1970's. After traveling with a number Beatle, Elvis and
Nashville acts through out the 1980's Charlie decided it was time to
be a solo instrumentalist.
Accepting
the fact that he was not a singer Charlie took the songs
he loved the most and created his own style of "melodizing" them. He embedded the melody within the chords, worked
in signature guitar licks, and kept the rhythm and bass
lines going all at the same time. This way the audience can hear the
singing the way they like, in their own head.
A
permanent fixture in New York City's Central Park for
the past 15 years Charlie has been performing for the thousands of
tourists and locals walking by. The beautiful music coming from his
guitar is very much appreciated by the many who go there to escape
the city noise. Other
favorite spots in NYC are the streets of Time Square and down in the
Village playing for tips. Additional Charlie plays a gig at a trendy
Soho club every Sunday. Last year he released Playing in Soho on CD
and followed up this year
with the easy listening Spring 2006.
Some recent career highlights include recording in Studio 2, Abbey
Road in the summer of
2000. Charlie recorded Please Please Me
on the same floor where the Beatles had done it 37 years earlier! In
2016 he opened for Tony Sheridan at the INDRA In Hamburg the Beatles
first venue in the seedy Reeperbahn. Next it was on to the Jacaranda
in Liverpool to do a set in Allan Williams old establishment. In May
of 2006 Charlie performed six shows at Abbey Road on the River the
USA's top Beatle event. He will be looking forward to his first
performance at the Cavern Club for Beatle Week 2006.
