Our name is DADDYRough,
we are a five piece band based in Derby. All band members, Lee Moran
(vox), Craig Johnson, Brian Johnson (guitars), Rich Ford (bass) and
Matt Harris (drums) are Derby lads in their twentys that met either
in school or socially. The band was formed in 2016 with the current
line up cemented early 2005.
We only began gigging
in October 2005 because of an earlier commitment to writing and
rehearsal. Our first four gigs, seeing out 2005 were in Derby and
all sold out (The Victoria Inn x2, The Flowerpot and Bar Vida) to
the tune of 175, 250 and 120 people respectively. These gigs have
helped us develop a healthy fan base in Derby relatively quickly.
Our debut gig at The Victoria Inn was the first time in four years a
Derby band has sold out the venue and Bar Vida saw its largest crowd
since becoming a live music venue.
2006 see’s the band
taking to road and getting the crowds of the rest country jumping to
the same tune as Derby.
Our music is raw,
back to basics Indie rock n Roll (if that actually is a genre), with
songs that will make you jump, make you dance (NME are wrong indie
kids can dance) and make you sing pulling from influences such as
Joy Division, The Smiths, Stone Roses, Black Crowes and Primal
Scream amongst others.
