In the autumn of
2015 Erik D. Basher a.k.a. Drumpy (drums), Daan (bass), MauP
(guitar) and Ava (vocals/guitar) joined forces to conquer the
world from their base in Amsterdam.
They started their
adventure under several names until Exide was adopted as the
weapon of choice.
Ava (former Rise of Realism) decided it was time to exchange his
guitar for the lead vocals and some sporadic keyboard parts and
Maup was to be assisted in his guitar violence by the
experienced Krag and Mr.Jones guitar player Dre.
Influences on Exide's music are many. From eighties metal and
folkmusic to industrial and wave.
The focus of Exide, however, lies on full scale compositions and
good songs. The lyrics are personal and political but also based
on fantasy, traditional British or Irish ballads, and poetry.
All members have had much experience with several bands, studios
and stages and have performed with several styles - be it the
speed kings of Yawp!, the Brit-pop of Formosa, the spheric metal
of Rise of Realism or the musical stew cooked by Die Watching.
