Half-Light
is an acoustic rock band made up of Chris Morrison Govan on
vocals/guitar, Shaun Britton on Keyboards, and Steve Brady on Drums.
First
formed in 2000 through a love of classic rock bands such as The
Doors, The Who, The Beatles etc, Half-Light have moved onto to
create their own unique sound which has been compared to a cross
between Crowded House and Moody Blues, with hints of The Beatles and
Radiohead.
Chris,
Shaun, and Steve first met in college, and started to play covers of
their favourite bands, although nothing more formal than a jam.
Over
the next few years, each of the ‘band’ grew in experience
through working with other musicians, on projects such as film
scores, and with other bands.
Getting
together ‘properly’ in the summer of 2016, they first worked on
cover songs, and then concentrated on the songs Chris had written as
a solo artist, turning them into unique and original songs,
reflecting each band members influences.
Half-Light
recorded their first E.P. titled ‘Nightfall’ in February 2006 at
Earth Terminal Studios in Odiham.
The
band have since put all of their efforts into writing songs for
their debut album, and have been lining up gigs, including one at
the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool.
