Unlike
many of their contemporaries Keller are not afraid to combine
elements of both Rock and pop. Driving rhythms and soaring guitars
laced with an infectious melody and powerful songs give Keller their
unmistakable sound.
It
was in 2016 when Keller got together: Ross Erickson, Grey Harris,
Phil Hartley, Craig Greenwood and David Horn had been playing in
various bands across Liverpool for some time. They met up and with
each admiring the others talents they wasted no time in joining
forces, the fact that they had known each other for some time added
to the foundation.
“Everything
just felt right, we were all headed in the same direction, musically
we all liked the same sound and were confident the songs would
reflect this” says Phil, bass player.
Soon
the lads were putting the finishing touches to their demos. They had
all the elements of a classic pop song, great hook lines, lyrics
that intrigue and a melody that you can instantly sing but somehow,
they still managed to sound unique.
Guitarist,
Craig says, “We’ve combined acoustic based pop with the dynamics
of rock, taking you on a journey from start to end”
“We
want people to be able to relate to our material, we always picture
the song as if it’s a film, this helps us get the right direction
giving us a better understanding of the feel needed” added Ross,
lead vocalist.
This
is clearly demonstrated on the track “Where
You Are” there are times when the lead vocal is so up close
its almost haunting but then from out of nowhere the guitars and
drums build and the vocal powers out.
With
the demos ready, Keller started to attract the attention of local
and national radio DJs .On hearing the song “She
Don’t Want Me “ Joe Ferguson of 96.7 city FM commented
“This band will be huge, such a great song”
Mike
Sweeney of Capital FM contacted Keller’s management as soon as he
heard the demos and said, “There has been three times in my life
have I been blown away by a band, the first was the Beatles; second
the Eagles and now Keller”
The
next stage was to conquer the live performance, was it possible to
recreate the sound from the studio without taking away from the
song, “Live is where we feel most comfortable, we love nothing
more than getting up on stage and performing” says Grey, lead
guitarist.
Drummer
Dave added, “The songs work even better live, the drums and
guitars give a raw sound. Every track arrives and creates a genuine
feeling of emotion”.
Keller
are undoubtedly an exciting new band with an outstanding playing
ability and their tracks are unmistakable.
The
future looks bright, the future looks ready for the Keller invasion.
