In December of 2016
music fans were rocked by the news of the tragic death of Irish
guitarist Jeremy Oliver. He had just 2 weeks earlier finished
recording an album with his brother Marc whom he had been playing
and performing music with since they were both very young.
The album, entitled
You Live and Learn, features a collection of songs which were
written by the brothers, and features very special guest appearances
from Irish Rock Legends Don Baker, Brush Shiels and Noel Bridgeman.
Marc has now put
together a band comprising of many musicians who played with the
brothers, and were close friends of Jeremy all through those years.
With The Oliver
Brothers "You Live and Learn" Tour well under way Marc
Oliver is deeply grateful to everyone who has come out to help him
celebrate the life and music of his late brother Jeremy Oliver.
A capacity crowd of
over 600 people attended the opening night in Mcphails of Drogheda
on July 4th 2005, with Rock legends Brush Shiels and Nolaig
Bridgeman making a guest appearance, performing their song Un Co-op
Showband blues which they recorded on the brother’s album.
Capacity crowds also
attended the following show in The Submarine in Dublin where Marc
performed with the 3DB band. Another capacity crowd of fans and
friends came to pay their tributes and Marc is overwhelmed by the
level of support he received here and also the following nights when
he brought the tour to The Stables in Mullingar, The sky venue in
Portlaoise, The Spirit Store In Dundalk and the finale in The Old
Stand in Trim where the brothers first started performing together
some 25 years ago.
