Biography |
Hailing from
Upton, on the Wirral, Mark Roberts represents true, unfaltering
folk music. His use of altered tunings and
celtic melodies provide a soothing and
altogether ultimate acoustic music experience. The complex and
drifting arrangements which have become a trademark show the
dedication he has put forth into
studying the styles of his musical heroes Ralph McTell,
Kathryn Williams and Dougie Maclean to name a few.
The music Mark writes is highly narrative, each song telling a
story. It is beautiful music, infused
with a wistful melancholy, and the addition of his haunting
vocals on such songs as 'The Leaving of Eli', and 'The Curlew Song'
put him at the front line of young folk
musicians today.
The song ‘Angela’ was his first commercial release on Chromium
Records on the ‘Showcase
International Album 2016’ and was released In March 2016. After
an extended break, Mark is now preparing for what looks set to be
his most successful year yet, with
several more releases planned and a soundtrack in
production.
