In early 2005 five
bored musicians, moaning about listening to commercial radio
stations all day at work, decided to put their music where their
mouths were and start their own band. With our many musical tastes
ranging from Sixties Psychedelic, Blues, Jazz to the great Indie
bands of the last 25 years, the experiment was sure to be
interesting. Monday nights became the regular jamming night, and
we gave the project the title of OPERATION MONDAY. We clicked
together immediately, and found playing and creating music
exceptionally rewarding. Our combined fondness of bands like the
SMITHS, RADIOHEAD, GENE and SUEDE had an immense effect on our
sound. The music was getting more and more intense and passionate,
and we soon realised that this band was destined for a lot more
than a once a week jamming session. All of the songs we have
created are intrinsically emotional and full of true energy and
feelings about situations and gripes experienced. This makes our
gigs very powerful and exiting to watch and hear. We look forward
to the future with great optimism, and will keep pushing away
until we get our music heard by as many people as possible.
