Inspired
by the style and power of the Creation, the Yardbirds and the Small
Faces, Real Crazy Apartment began life in 1998 in North Wales and
the North West and quickly became a favourite on the national mod
scene, regularly playing gigs at rallies around the country.
This
popularity spread to the extent that they saw a track entitled 'Four
Sided Circles' included on Spanish compilation album 'Fever' on Bip
Bip records, and another early track 'Moving On' used in an Andy
Warhol documentary on Canadian television.
The
band continued to refine their style and introduced more
contemporary influences such as Weller and the Stone Roses to
augment their sound.
The
culmination of this period was an explosive set at London mod club
The Purple Pussycat. This generated so much attention that the band
received a congratulatory phone call from none other than Jimmy
Winston, ex-keyboard player for the Small Faces whose 1967 song
'Real Crazy Apartment' gave the band their name.
They
have continued to develop their sound, and have been writing new
material which reflects a broader style and wider range of
influence, whilst crucially maintaining the power and impact
exemplified by their blistering live performance.
