Biography |
Sons of Now are a
progressive Indie rock band from the North side of Dublin, Ireland.
Impressively they kicked off their career in the music industry in
March 04 by winning a hardly fought battle of the bands in Dublin
which was guest judged by Pete Holidai of the Radiators fame. The
prize saw them heading over to play in Spain only after their third
gig. From that point the band gigged in venues around Dublin,
familiarising themselves with the Dublin scene and getting their
name about. Sons of Now hit Grouse Lodge Recording studios in the
Irish midlands to record their first demo. The band put down 3
tracks, all of which were penned by the Band in Grouse Lodge, and
were not to be over-awed by the big names that previously recorded
there like welsh rockers The Manic Street Preachers, Muse and Doves.
On the Back of this Demo, which was well received in venues across
Dublin, support slots with some of the cities rising young talent
such as The Subtonics and The Mighty Stef came about and even
headlining Dublin's popular late night Indie club 'Radiator' in
Eamon Doran's. Sons of Now are influenced by a wide variety of bands
and musicians such as Oasis, Bob Dylan, The Stone Roses, The La's,
Kings of Leon to name but a few. Their biggest success to date was
playing support to The Complete Stone Roses on their 2005 Nationwide
UK and Ireland tour. A return to the studio in January is on the
cards for the band with a single release being the main objective
for 2006.
