Strife were a 3
piece heavy rock band formed in 1971 and consisting of Gordon Rowley
on bass, Paul Ellson on drums and John Reid on guitar and main
vocals. Being local to Merseyside they played the Cavern virtually
every week for years sometimes 2 or 3 times as they were often
called in at the last minute if a band did not turn up, consequently
a lot of Strife appearances were never advertised. They were
actually the last band to play at the original Cavern. They released
2 albums and an EP and played all over the UK and Europe and did
sessions in L.A. finally disbanding in 1979. There is a dedicated
