The three of them started writing songs, whilst looking for the other two members. After trying out a few guitarists, they stumbled upon Mike Austin, who was between bands after losing the one he was in. He slotted in perfectly and made the position of rhythm guitar his own! This left the four with the age old problem of finding a drummer!! Again, after practising with a few, no one could fill the void!! Around this time, Brendan Murphy, a schoolboy friend of the three, said he was getting posted back to the northwest and was happy to drum. The line up was complete!!!

These five individuals gave birth to the sures and the sound they produce!! Soon the band began regular practices at The Crash to perfect this sound. After recording a two song demo CD, the sures decided that their sound was best heard live and raw and so they descended onto the live music scene!!!!
