With his husky, seductive and warm voice, piano player, singer/songwriter
Tony O’Malley and his band of great musicians create a very exciting blend of Rhythm & Blues, Soul and Jazz.
Tony has often played with the then "unknown"
guitarist Jimi Hendrix. He teamed up with the vocal harmony ensemble Arrival, who went on to have chart successes in
1970 with "Friends" and "I Will Survive", followed by successive tours of Japan and the UK. Arrival
also performed at several high profile festivals throughout Europe, including Jimi Hendrix's final concert, the now
legendary Isle of Wight Festival.
In 1972 Tony became a founder member of the highly
esteemed ten-piece outfit Kokomo , gaining a loyal following of fans and musicians alike. Kokomo recorded three acclaimed albums,
achieving chart success in England and Holland with "A Little Bit Further Away", and nurturing a cult status
in the U.S. before disbanding.
After a successful spell as musical director
touring with Motown's Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and recording with top musicians such as Bob Dylan and Eric
Clapton, Tony replaced Kevin Godley and Lol Creme in Britain's 10CC , touring Australia, Japan, Europe and the U.K. recording the platinum double album "Live and Let
Live" before leaving the band to concentrate on writing and performing his own music.
During the early 90’s Tony became a much-loved and
respected performer on the London jazz scene, regularly playing the world-famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho and
Chelsea’s legendary 606 Club.
Among the array of fine musicians playing in Tony's band
throughout Europe and the U.K., is American virtuoso guitarist Marty Townsend, founding member of the renowned Belgian
R&B band Blue Blot, whose success of the early 90's was rekindled when Tony fronted the band for a successful
festival season in the summer and fall of 2001.
