Comparisons don't come easy with the Tracie Hunter band, brothers Neil & Mel
Gabbitas, Darren Oldale and drummer Steve Washington work alongside Tracie to create a sound which
undoubtedly sets them apart from their contemporaries.
Formed just over 3 years ago the bands sound combines tightly constructed
irresistible hooks & unforgettable melodies produced with the more expansive leanings of guitar oriented
rock, this together with Hunter's lyrical foresight and gutsy, passionate, powerful vocal delivery make them
a force to be reckoned with.
The band have toured the UK several times as headline act at venues such as,
Sheffield University, Leeds University, Liverpool Cavern, Trillians (Newcastle), Fibbers (York) & home
turf gigs include Ronnie Scotts (London), The Underworld, The 100 club, The Water Rats, The Borderline etc,
etc. They have also played support for Ian Hunter (Tracie's father) on 3 sell out nation-wide tours of
venues such as The London Astoria & Dan Baird (Georgia satellites) on his UK tour last year.
The band are receiving rave reviews and their website is receiving between
2,000 & 10,000 hits per week.
A record deal which fell trough at the last minute saw the band self finance
their own EP which has been selling well at various independent record shops, gigs and off the website, with
enough self penned material to record three albums this band ain't sitting around & are currently
recording their debut album which will available in the summer.
The Tracie Hunter band are already carving a niche in the UK, with fans
travelling from all over the country to see them play & also plan a European tour later in the year, in
the words of Making Music's Andy Basire, "Tracie Hunter is gonna be huge."
