Vogue began in 1999.
Elly and Dave had been fans of Madonna for a long time, and many
people had commented in the past on Elly's likeness to her, both
vocally and in appearance. Madonna’s concerts had the whole
package – fantastic songs and a visual experience for the
audience.
They were excited and
inspired, and set about looking for talented musicians and dancers,
choreographers and costume designers to help them to create a show
that would capture everything about Madonna from the past twenty
years.
After six months of
intense rehearsals, Vogue’s first tour took them around the Middle
East. Since then, they have toured the production all over the
world. They have entertained theatre, corporate and festival
audiences, and performed for Prince William and Prince Harry,
Richard Branson and the Sultan of Oman.
Vogue includes Elly
Jarmain, who looks and sounds uncannily like Madonna, along with
dynamic dancers and live musicians. We have worked hard to imitate
her tours down to the last detail, both musically and visually.
Our costume designers have recreated all the images, taking the
audience on an evocative journey from the eighties to the new
century. The older members of the audience remember the pointy bras
and corsets, and the crucifixes and lace of the Boytoy era. The
younger generation identify with the cowboy look, and the geisha and
punk styles of the recent Drowned World tour.
Vogue appeals to all ages, covering Madonna’s amazing career of
over twenty years, featuring all the excitement, interaction, music
and drama of her live concerts (the only thing missing is the bad
language!).
