John-Boy & The Waltons are one of Holland's best and funniest Rock'n'Roll
bands; the right band for all kinds of festivals, clubs, pubs and parties. If you wanna have a good time, if
you wanna dance, just call these guys!
They've been playing twice a week, for the last 10 years. In 2015 they've done shows all over The
Netherlands, but also in Belgium, Spain and Germany. In September this year they'll perform in the Cavern
Club, on the 12th, 13th and 14th.
Their second cd 'Family Values' is available NOW through Rarity Records. Order it at
www.waltons.nl. And you
can download their 2002 single "(Let Me Be Your) Number 72" from
www.mp3.com/waltons. Go ahead,
it's for free! The Waltons played their single on many national TV- and radio-shows, like the best viewed
talkshow on dutch television, Barend & Van Dorp.
John-Boy & The Waltons originate from Nijmegen, in the east of The Netherlands, and started off in 1989.
They specialize in old-time Rock’n’ Roll from the Fifties and early Sixties; the best songs by Elvis
Presley, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran and Buddy Holly but also some Rockabilly, old-fashioned Country Music
and even a few 'bad taste'-hits from the 1970's.
And then there's The Beatles. No Dutch band play their music better and more authentically. The Waltons
always use the original key, there's no need to change it 'cause they've got just the right voices...
Exactly 25 years after the famous Beatles-performance on the Apple building, John-Boy & The Waltons
appeared on top the Nijmegen Opera, playing the very same set of songs. The live-demo that was recorded that
day got great reviews, for example in Holland's leading music magazine Music Maker: "Every tiny
Beatles-detail is there!".
The band has three lead singers: John-Boy, Jim-Bob en Del Walton. They sing together and change the
lead almost every song. Jason plays the guitar since he lost his accordion during a gig in 1999. Cousin Mark
is the drummer. In november 2015 the Waltons will record a new album in the Sing Sing Studios in
Friesland
