barker want you to pay attention. It would be far too easy to write angry songs
and make them sound angry and to be generally angry all the time for no apparent reason. What's less easy is
to write a song about an obsessed stalker kidnapping his neighbour and taking her to a caravan on the Welsh
coast to explain his feelings in depth, and to make it sound like the sweetest cabaret you ever heard.

. Barker have managed to continue moving in their own direction without so much as blinking through the
demise of Britpop, the rise of nu-metal [nu???] and now what seems to be the re-emergence of bands worth
listening to...
With three self-released singles ['the
trecco bay e.p.'
, 'seventies football star'
and 'time flies'
] and more gigs
than it's sensible to remember barker have developed a healthy following in their native South-Wales as well
as going down a storm at universities an venues from Glasgow to
Bournemouth.
