Biography |
The Beatbrothers are Phil Gillespie on
Lead guitar and vocals, born in 1989 and
Eddy Gillespie on drums, born 2 years later! They are joined by
Shaun Gillespie on bass, a true
family affair! Their first break
was playing at the Beatle Convention in 2001 as part of the
Junior Cavern Section that year, and have never looked back. This
year (April) they appeared on
radio Merseyside for a half hour spot, playing two of
their own penned songs as well as covering amongst other things that
great track Brainwashed by George
Harrison. They followed this with a spot at
The Easter Beatle Weekend in 2016 at The Cavern Pub which went down
a storm, (hope the drums kit
recovered) .
The music is primarily 60's, The Who, Stones, Beatles, Kinks etc
which they bring an energy too
that is infectious! They now live in the Preston area, although
originally from Liverpool.
Phil also plays trumpet, classical giuitar, and drums, and has
played trumpet at the Victoria
Hall in Hanley to an audience of 2000. His first love
tho is his Fender Strat which received merciless treatment on stage!
Eddy pays drums, and also plays
Euphonium for his school orchestra. Shaun's
only claim to fame is the guitar he plays was once owned by his hero
John Entwistle!
