Biography
No relation to Gerry Marsden, Beryl began her career by acting as an occasional singer with several of the Liverpool bands including Lee Curtis & The All Stars and The Undertakers. She embarked on a solo career in 1962 and, under the guidance of manager Tony Stratton-Smith, signed with Decca the following year.
After two singles for Decca she moved to EMI's Columbia label in 1965. Three further releases undeservedly sank without trace.
Although never achieving success on a national scale, she remained a popular singer in the Liverpool area throughout this period.
After the failure of her solo career, in 1966 she joined Shotgun Express, which also included Rod Stewart. Before moving on to all-girl group She Trinity and linking up with Paddy Chambers in Sinbad. She was later an in-demand session singer.
