Biography |
The Clear were co-formed
in 1998 by Tony Cosgrove (guitar/vocals) & Netran Dolan
(guitar), the original line up consisted of Chris Campbell (drums)
and Ste
Porter (bass), over the next 12 months they began to pack many
of Liverpool's
venues including a number of appearances at The Cavern, which
resulted in the band
building up a dedicated fan base. Porter was replaced by Billy Lake
in 2000 and the following year Nathan Sayer arrived on drums,
The Clear had now
developed a more mature sound which they described as
"A Gutsy
blend of Rock, Blues & Soul" a support slot with Proud Mary
who were signed to Noel Gallagher's Sour Mash label led to the
band securing a management deal and the release of their debut
single "All The Tears b/w Better
Than You" which was recorded at The Windings in Wrexham North
Wales. A
lot of interest was generated from the release and the band
soon became regular
fixtures at The Cavern on Saturday afternoons often performing
two sets,
it was here that their fan base increased and countless copy's
of their
single were sold. 2015 was their best year on the live front
and they went
on the road to test their sound at venues all over the UK, also in
the summer
of that year they supported The Jamm again at The Cavern to a
sell out
crowd. After five years at the helm of the group
singer/songwriter Tony Cosgrove
parted company with the band, (he has since gone on to form
his new band Beggars Belief) leaving Netran Dolan as the only
original surviving member
who plans to take time out to work on new material.
