After
jamming in many different bands for over ten years, with countless
musicians coming and going, Paul along with his brother John decided
to get Dazy Cutter off the ground.
“We
decided to set about writing some original songs and soon realised
we had something special and a nucleus to create a solid unit with a
very big sound.
Our next
step was to find another guitarist. Steve, an experienced guitarist
from Cambridge who had studied at London's Guitar Institute had
written an advert in Ad-Trader looking for a pro-minded band. We all
had the same ideas about which direction we wanted the music to take
us and the next step was to find a quality rhythm section.
We found
the drummer we wanted in Terry, he had also studied music at
London's Musicians Institute. At the time he was playing in a London
based band but we got him along for a jam and impressed him enough
to join up.
After
months of practising and writing more material we recorded an E.P.
The three tracks "Make A Change", "If You're
Alone" and "Sunday Rain" made a big impact at some of
the best venues in the country. Soon, we where playing London's
Infinity Club, The Cherry Jam and The Archway Tavern and most
notably Liverpool Cavern and Cambridge's "Pop In The
Park".
We
decided to part company with our Bass Player at the very start of
2016 due to conflicting opinions and brought in Michael to help with
our next E.P "Chasing Rainbows". He impressed us with the
speed he learnt the material and the extra drive he gave the rhythm
section.
The new
E.P contained the tracks "Chasing Rainbows", "Broken
Arrow" and "Crazy". This again made an impact and
many more gigs were booked and played due to its quality, propelling
the band to greater heights.
We have
built up a loyal following that continues to grow with every gig and
we are setting high standards with our live performances.
