The

The
Echo are:
Andrew
Barton- age 26 (Guitar, Vocals)
Samuel Woodings- age 26 (Piano, Guitar, Harmonica)
Chris Challenger- age 25 (Bass)
John Wright- age 26 (Drums, Percussion)
The
Echo played at the following venues in Leeds:
The
Cockpit
Josephs Well
The Vine
The Mixing Tin
Royal Park Cellars
Brudenell Social Club
Faversham
HiFi
…to
name but a few plus great gigs in various cities including
Sheffield, Manchester, Bradford, Harrogate and erm…Lincoln! The
Manchester gig was in connection with the Triangle Centre’s mini
festival and was covered by the Ragtime.com website. We have also
supported Leeds giants The Xenith Sound and Vib Gyor at their CD
launches at The Cockpit and the Brudenell Social respectively.
Further to this we have supported folk legends John Renbourne
and Rory McLeod.
Our
career
highlights have included competing at the annual
Futuresound Competition in Leeds and putting on a cracking
performance to wide acclaim during our heat at The Cockpit. Man we
should have won this!!!!
The
Echo made their very first music video in collaboration with the
20202 Vision competition held in Leeds. This garnered exposure
throughout the City and the competition was also covered by Channel
4s ‘Little Wonder’ series. This was by far the most intensive
two weeks of our lives, but my god it was great.
In
short, we have gigged and gigged at all the venues in Leeds and many
surrounding ones too. However, it’s The Cockpit and the frantic
competitions that have really improved us as a band and shown we can
command the bigger stages too.
We
have plans to release a third EP, ‘Tin Foil Dreams’ soon and
hold a CD launch in the city for our loyal fanbase, followed by our
own night at The Cockpit. 2006 has so far been very good to us so
2016 should be beautiful.
