When Fumble played the Cavern for the first time
in 1971 they were still called "The Baloons". In 1972 they changed their name to Fumble. The
line-up stayed the same: Des Henly, Mario Ferrari, Sean Mayes and Barry Pike. In the 70's Fumble supported
David Bowie on his British and US-Tour, backed Chuck Berry, toured Europe with Bill Haley, Fats Domino and
played at several European Festivals.
In the late 70's they took part in Elvis - The Musical, a show at the Astoria Theatre in
London, and in the TV-series "Oh Boy" along with Shakin' Stevens. Fumble have made 4 LP's and
13 singles. In 1982 they officially disbanded and stopped touring. Sadly their keyboarder Sean
Mayes died in 1995. But the rest of the band still get together once a year, and "Des Henly's
Rock'n'Roll Circus" is a sell out each year at Christmas time in their home-town
Weston-super-Mare.
And... the three remaining guys are still great pals. Just
like they were in the early years!
