Biography |
The Band formed in
Cornwall, UK, June 2005, with popular South West acoustic artist Joe
Francis recruiting Ben 'Westy' Westaway (guitars) and Ash 'A-Train'
James (drums) to back him up as a change from his increasingly
popular solo shows.
With musical and lyrical
integrity Joe Francis and the Ammunition have become
indelible figures on the local music scene. The band has played with
some of the UKs most
popular acts in recent years including Courtney Pine, The
Wire Daisies, Jack Johnson, Billy Bragg, The Subways, Donavon
Frankenreiter and Alex
Parks In
June 2005 The Ammunition began working with top producer Dare Mason
(Prince, Elton John,
Placebo, Paul McCartney, Thirteen senses) in his V.I.P lounge,
Penzance, Cornwall. The result of this collaoration is 'China white
Dynamite' the debut EP
from the group which has been released independently
- which, in its first
fortnight sold over a thousand copies across Cornwall, receiving
radio play and creating new fans whenever its heard. One
can only imagine that the same artistry that has them held in such
high regard in
their local scene will carry the group into the esteem of the
greater public gallery.
