The Meddler are a blues rock band based in Chester, North
West England. They formed at university and built up a fanbase playing their own original music around
Cheshire and North Wales. The Meddler have played all the major venues in and around the area, including
Central Station, Wrexham and the Tivoli in Buckley. In 2001 The Meddler embarked upon their first tour to
the south of England, playing a few dates that ended with a sell-out gig at the Crypt, Hastings. They have
been booked for the up and coming Chester Fringe Summer Music Festival on the 20th July and the Cavern,
Liverpool on July 3rd.
To date The Meddler have worked in a number of studios including the Forge, Oswestry and Autumn Road
Studios, where they recorded their first E.P
The Meddler’s music combines elements of blues and fast paced rock and roll, with folk style melodies.
Their diverse influences include older groups such as Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Rolling Stones
and also newer acts like Gomez and Pearl Jam.
The bands demo C.D, especially the track Who’s Your Daddio? Have found favour with various recording
companies, including Matchbox Recordings. This label has released Who’s Your
Daddio? To appear on the
Blast off compilation album, featuring other international artists. The song went straight in at number 1 in
the Matchbox chart. The Meddler also enjoyed national radio airplay on James Whale’s Talk Radio show,
Liverpool’s Shout FM and Matchbox Radio, which broadcasts over the Internet. The song Who’s Your
Daddio?
was picked up by Radio Fedra in Serbia (Montenegro) and is presently airing on their station.
