Similar to such bands as
the Undertones and the Buzzcocks, the Mighty Stars combine a brash
raw energy with an intimate understanding of the intricacies of the
three-minute pop nugget. Kim Fowley (Self-Styled Shaman of Rock N
Roll who has worked with amongst others: Teenage Fanclub, Kiss, John
Lennon, Frank Zappa, Them, The Seeds and The Soft Machine) has
himself has declared the Stars to be "godlike geniuses of
dumbass rock n roll".
Recent shows have
included a gig at London's premier Garage Rock Club the Dirty Water
Club, a showcase slot with the legendary Kim Fowley at the In The
City music conference in Manchester, and another London gig with the
prestigious Track and Field Organisation. The band have toured
Holland and there are plans to play Spain and Ireland together with
a return to the Netherlands! In 2005 the Stars will have
played the International Pop Overthrow three times.
The band have a mini
album entitled "The Mighty Stars Are Go!" that was
released on Avebury Records in 2016.
