The
Mode are a vibrant new indie rock band, from the great music
city
of Glasgow. The band have recently recorded their debut EP “The
Line”. The launch night took place at Glasgow’s famous King
Tuts Wah Wah Hut on the 26th of September where they supported, Jill
Jackson, formerly of Speedway.
The band have also done a number of gigs through Dicelines and
Podboy Records.
Their
influences range from the Beatles and Oasis to The Killers. The Mode
have a distinct sound that you will draw your attention from the
first chord.
In
the last few months the band has had a full itinerary of gigs
throughout central Scotland and live acoustic sessions on a local
radio station. Since then, Jim Gellatly has also played the EP on
his Beat 106 show, “The Beatscene”. Their gigs have included
some lucrative support slots including Driverdown (V2) at the Arches
and Special Needs (Poptones) at Barfly both in Glasgow. The Mode
also played recently at the Paisley Love Music Festival. The band
are due to support The Grim Northern Social towards the end of
October and are in negotiations for a tour of England in early 2006.
Despite
being together less than a year The Mode are building a vibrant fan
base through their publicity from the Evening Times, RCT music and
Jim Gellatly.
