Montauk island, are a 5
piece indie rock band from Keighley, West Yorks, age range of the
band is 29-32. The band has been formed for around 5 years, but its
only with the current line up of; Richard Byrne, Vocals, Steve
Rhodes, Guitar, Chris Jackson, Rythm Guitar, Simon Rourke, Bass
Backing Vocals and Stuart Currie, Drums, that the band is moving
forward. They have played numerous local gigs,biggest of which were
the 'Love Keighley, Hate Racism' gig for the mayors charities, and,
more recently the 'Cockpit' Leeds taking a crowd of there own of
115. They recently had a really positive demo review in the top
music mag NME, which has given the band some real oppurtunities, and
they are currently making the most of letting everyone hear there
individual sound, as well as constantly working hard, to write new,
and revamp existing material. They have also had interest from 2
promoters in Italy, and currently in talks with these regarding,
future opputunities. The band are definately one to watch out
for.There first gig at 'The Cavern' is December 10th.
