Biography
Based in Liverpool (UK), The Neil Campbell Collective is the ultimate performing vehicle for a repertoire of classically tinged songs and instrumental pieces. The group's sound is characterised by melodic vocals and classical guitar (often electronically processed with looping, fast delay lines and morphing kaoss pad textures), the lyricism of cellist Nicole Austin and a powerful and virtuoso rhythm section powered by drummer Mark Brocklesby and bassist Paul Reay.

They are:

Neil Campbell - Classical Guitar and Vocals
Mark Brocklesby - Drums and Percussion
Nicole Austin - Cello

In May 2005 they privately released their debut album '3 O'Clock Sky'. This is what some of the critics said about it:

"polished progressive rock harking back to the lineage of Focus and King Crimson...Neil Campbell's guitar playing is exemplary and at times beautiful" Caleb Hungerpang, Live Magazine

"Musicianship of the highest order...plenty of fine percussion (Mark Brocklesby)" McCullough Crane, Classic Rock Society

"Catchy melodies, strong harmony vocals, carefully crafted structures...this is an album that just grows and grows with each listening...", Bob Mulvey, Dutch Progressive Rock Pages

"Campbell whips his way around his freboard like a rock n roll shredder creating the musical equvalent of a hurricane", Brett Callwood, Acoustic Magazine

"Thunder rolls and launches Spanish style classical guitar work and some very insistent, but tastefully restrained driving drums. The playing is first rate..." Progressor.net

"Eight tracks of thoughtful, well arranged songs...There are touching moments, beauty and melody here.", Chris Brown, Daily Post

"If we lived in a musical world which was more just, we would hear Neil Campbell on the radio all the time...", Fix Sadler, Babyblaue Seiten.de

"It is refreshing that musicians like Neil Campbell manage to release an album which, while offering enough intiguing and complex moments for 'proggers' remains accessible for a broader audience...", Dennis Egbers, Babyblaue Suiten.de
