Biography |
The sound engineer at a
well known venue on the UK national rock circuit commented
recently "That is what a rock performance should be about.
These guys play
as tight as a camel's arse in a sandstorm. What maturity for such
young musicians ... a
tremendous live show ... The Past is simply one the very
best rock bands we have ever had here, signed or unsigned - anybody
who gets a chance
should not miss seeing these guys play up a storm" With
a vibrant and highly exciting visual presence The Past is one of the
East Coast's most
skilled and regularly-working young rock bands. Individually
and collectively talented, the four musicians in the band had
met while attending
Boston College for two years, studying Modern Music at BTec
level. Their first public appearance as a band was the renowned
After Dark
Nightclub, Boston, in July 2016. Playing
hard hitting "balls out" modern and lyrical rock music,
featuring mostly
self-written songs with just an occasional carefully arranged cover,
the band plays the
sounds of today, but with a backwards respectful nod at the
golden era of Classic Brit Performance Rock. Well
known record producer Andrew East, previously Chairman of the Music
Producers Guild of Great
Britain has just agreed, in the last few weeks, to produce
the band's first full album for countrywide release. Recording
starts in London on 13
June 2006. The band is unhappy with the current name, which
conjures up inaccurate visions of a covers band and it will almost
certainly be changed
before any further CD releases. The band's first four track
CD "Close your Eyes" was released in March 2005, marketed
through the HMV
chain with initial sales exceeding expectations.
