PopTart came to life
early May 2006 when brothers Sam and Josh Radford teamed
up with school friend Tobias Gibaud to rehearse and add to some of
Sam's earlier composed
music. Tim Griffiths was then picked up, roaming around
the internet with his bass. The four of them clicked instantly and
performed their first
show in August 2006.
Before the band had even played a gig there was much interest on
the internet as some demonstration recordings had been made and
posted on Myspace.
The excitement caused by the bands tenacious promotion and catchy
music drew 179 people
to their very first show in Liverpool!
PopTart have elements of pop, punk and rock in their music. Some
have compared
them to Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, McFly and some other bands
that fall into the
Pop-punk category. PopTart would therefore label themselves
Pop-punk but continue to provide us with completely original
music that is
essentially Pop-punk but does not compare well to other traditional
Pop-punk bands. PopTart are bringing us something new.
"Drenched with originality, yet sliding nicely into a
commercial market PopTart
are set for the skies!"
Tony R, Redland Records.
Although PopTart
have only been around for approximately six months they are
already performing
like a band who have been around for six years. They are impossible
to fault on stage, they have the crowd involved from the word go,
they always have a
memorable stage stunt such as dropping balloons, throwing out
sweets and getting a couple of the crowd to participate on stage.
PopTart are there for
the fans, PopTart are happy when the fans are happy. Their
unique music style continues to draw fans daily with some
travelling as
far as from Sheffield to Liverpool to see them play and their
stage presence
continues to wow the spectators.
PopTart were shocked when they had a pre-gig surprise interview
from Widnes College Magazine who had got wind of PopTart through
word of mouth. PopTart
are signed to Redland Records, an indie label from their home town
of Liverpool. You can
contact PopTart via their record label or via their Myspace:
