Biography |
Born in 2001,
Reeved is the brainchild of singer Dave Ayres and Bassist Sausage
(aka Chris Brooks -but even his mum calls him by the meaty
name).Like any fledgling band, times were hard and a direction
was unclear, until the
veterans stepped in. Long time friend Paul Gooding joined the
fold with his guitar madness,
whilst Dave’s older brother Mik took to the drum
stool. With them, they both bought a host of experience that really
set Reeved on the right track,
each member possessing a unique musical taste
and personality that has formed the fabric of this compelling band.
Their musical style has been forever hard to pin down. It has been
compared to Faith No More along
with Pantera, Linkin Park and Foo Fighters,
but has never really fitted into any one description. This makes
Reeved’s sound truly original.
With a firm belief that every one of their songs
should stand up as an anthem on its own, Reeved are meticulous song
crafters. The term “Filler”
doesn’t register in a set, as each track is written
to provoke just the right reaction that never seems to fail.
The band’s gig ethic is that the public pay to see a band, as well
as listen to it, so
with that principal firmly in mind, Reeved always performs
an energetic and entertaining show. With two EPs recorded, entitled
“Anybody Local” and most recently “5”, the band have been
playing packed-out gigs
across the whole of Yorkshire. They have received interest from
numerous record companies and the media, as well as pricking the
ears of top industry
people both in the UK and across the pond. Now in 2005, the
band are better than ever, and promise to turn more than a few heads
as they continue to bring the
madness that is the world of Reeved.
