"It's
simple rock 'n' roll vox'd by a Billy Idolesque frontman, with
guitar shades
of The Cult..."
Retrofin are a 5 piece indie rock 'n' roll outfit from Essex and
have been together
since November 2016, sharing a love for Commodore 64's, chopper
bikes,
Monkey Magic, all things retro...
At this early stage in their career the band already has an
impressive CV having
supported the likes of Alan Mcgee's Poptones signed 'Echelon', all
girl
rock band 'Mcqueen' (who recently opened for at Juliette Lewis and
The Licks
at the Bowery Ballroom in New York) at Herts university, as well as
original
Libertine 'Scarborough' Steve Bedlow's new outfit 'The IV's' at The
Garage
in Islington.
The band performed to thousands of people at last year's Big Bang VW
festival
at the Santa Pod Raceway, and has headlined at other London venues
such as
Brixton Telegraph, Pleasure Unit and The Ruskin Arms (birthplace of
The
Small Faces & Iron Maiden) as well as headlining a showcase gig
for XFM Radio
(sponsored by Peavey) @ fashionable nightspot 'Neighbourhood' in
Notting
Hill.
Airplay on AIIR Radio, a TV interview with Channel 4's bedsitcom
star and presenter
Dave Johnson and various podcasts and stints at the Dublin Castle
and 333
Club have also helped build their following...
The
band has a huge range of influences from Pink Floyd to AC/DC,
however Retrofin's
sound itself goes against the grain of most bands currently on
the
circuit - Retrofin are not mods or rockers and are not trying to be
the next
Coldplay or Razorlight. You have to see this band live to understand
what
it's about.
