Ricky
formed at the beginning of 2001. Combining a love of the 1960's with
a passion for the Britpop generation, the band hoped to combine the
sounds of these two classic eras.
Ricky's self-funded
debut album, 'The Summer Sun Still Echoes', was released to much
critical acclaim in March 2016. Produced by the band themselves
(with a meagre financial budget), the album's timeless melodies and
beautiful close harmonising won Ricky lavish praise across the
British press, most notably a 4-star review in the UK's biggest
music publication, 'Q Magazine'.
Ricky released a
follow-up single later that year which became one of the
highest-ranking 45's ever to have been released by an unsigned band.
Reaching number 10 in the indie chart, it created much intrigue
within the music industry and led to Ricky signing with new
London-based independent label, Beat Crazy Records.
Ricky's first release
with the new label, the anthemic 'Stop Knocking The Walls Down',
sailed in at number 32 in the UK singles chart in February 2005.
The sophomore LP,
titled 'High Speed Silence', has been produced by Gordon Mills and
will hit the UK and ROI's record stores on June 6th 2005. It is a
huge leap forward from the debut album and finally shows Ricky's
full potential.
