Biography |
SpeedTheory were formed
in the autumn of 2016 after the break up of
Alex and Jay’s old band Code:Dead. After drummer Alex Hannon left
Code:Dead in the summer
of 2016 the band split shortly after, leaving everyone
to go their separate ways. Not wanting to give up on music, Alex
asked Jay if he wanted
to join him in a new project, an offer he promptly accepted.
This left a bassist, vocalist and second guitarist to be found.
This was not achieved
until October 2016 when Alex and Jay were asked to group
together with other musicians for a local performance project to
play a few songs
at a school performance, then drummer Bob Gibbons was asked to
take on the bass duties
for a performance of Metallica’s “For Whom The Bell Tolls”,
he joined the band shortly afterwards, luckily along with Bob came
long time friend and
guitarist Wes Davies (who both had similar musical tastes),
and the band was looking complete. When this line-up was achieved
the band set about
writing songs that would be sure to take them to the top of
the heavy metal ladder. After months of searching for a vocalist
with very little
success, the band decided that Wes should take on lead vocals
and Bob would do
secondary vocals, and the SpeedTheory that is, was complete.
Now they look to the future and world domination.
"their tight, fast and often melodic heavy metal comes straight
out of the genre's
glory days"
- Metal Hammer
"SpeedTheory is one large audio assault, bombarding you from
all side, attacking
all of your senses"
- Raised-Horns.co.uk
