Swearbox are:
Campbell McNeil - Vocal and Guitar
Peter Christie - Lead Guitar
Stuart Hinde - Bass
Keir Inglis - Drums and Background Vocals
Swearbox were formed in November 1998 from the ashes of various
unsigned bands from the Lanarkshire area of Scotland.
Originally playing under the name of 'Sweet F.A.' the boys gigged
extensively through Scotland and enjoyed bookings at Glasgow's
finest 'unsigned' venues with regular appearances at King Tuts and
The Cathouse.
Sweet F.A. signed up with 'peoplesound.com' in 2000 realising that
a wider audience was needed if they were to continue to chase
their dreams. This in turn brought them to radio and TV
appearances with one high point being a televised acoustic
performance from Scotland's 'T in the Park' festival.
As you would expect this helped the band gain even more confidence
in their abilities and gigs at King Tuts, The Cathouse, The 13th
Note and the Renfrew Ferry soon followed, again to rave reviews.
The band decided to change there name to 'Swearbox' after too many
mistaken identities with their former name! (Just to clarify…
they are not a tribute band, a heavy metal band from the 80's,
don't sing about flowers and most definitely do not wear spandex!
Well, not on a school night anyway!)
2005 found them hard at work in the studio recording their first
album length CD, 'Do Me A Favour.' The album was
completed in March 2006 and is now for sale on the bands website,
at every gig and on ebay.co.uk
Featuring 10 of their best tracks, this CD demonstrates why
they must surely be regarded as one of Scotland's, if not the UK's
best kept secrets.
This year will be
spent gigging to support the CD and the boys have already
lined up an impressive array of live dates. Check them out at;
