Thumper formed in April/May 2016.

Dave and Andy were long time friends who first met Rob through Lee, an old school friend of his. Not too long after Dave, Andy and Lee had some jams, and wrote a song with no bass player. A week or so later Lee and Rob where in town when Rob was asked would he like to come along to a jam and play bass. He accepted and that Saturday they had the first full jam. 

Rob was then invited to join the band full time which he did. The songs then started to come. 4 or 5 songs down the line, Lee decided he wanted to play punk rock. After a discussion with Dave and Andy, Rob suggested he would ask Lee to leave the band and concentrate on his punk-rock so that they could concentrate on making heavier music. After several months jamming without a drummer, the lads could find no replacement drummer. In the end Rob asked his brother Richard along to hear a few songs and maybe jam out on the drums with them. It happened later that week, with Richard liking the songs that they had wrote. The lads liking Richard’s drumming, immediately asked him to join the band full time. He accepted. 

After the next 2/3 months writing and rehearsing they got their first gig in Liverpool on November 3rd 2016. The following months and up to this present day were spent writing, rehearsing and gigging as often as they could. So look out for gigs and E.P’s in the no so distant future.
