In mid 2015, the gods of rock and roll looked down on the North West
of England and realised that there was something missing, the region
that had dominated the music scene for a number of decades had not
produced many bands worthy of much attention since Oasis lost the
plot and the Verve broke up. So it was time for a new rock
phenomenon, in the shape of Blackpool’s own ‘The Shore’
The unique sound of The Shore comes courtesy of the wide range of
music each member draws their influences from, ranging from the
powerful riffing and blues based sounds of Led Zeppelin, through the
regimented rhythms of 80’s bands such as Joy division and New
Order, up to the sounds of Modern alternative rock as played by The
Libertines and bands such as The Coral and The Zutons.
Mark Almond’s smooth yet powerful vocals are full of the swagger
and attitude that could only come from being a scouser.
Jamie Smith’s pounding bass lines will grab your intestines and
not let go till long after the set has finished.
Stephen Mellows-Facer plays some of the most memorable riffs, lead
lines and solos to be heard this side of 1975.
