Hagana began life as a 6-piece back in 2015 but after tinkering with
the
line-up and overall sound they re-emerged in early 2005 as a 3-piece
with
a harder, edgier and thoroughly tighter sound.
In May 2005 they entered the studio to record what would become the
'Mantilla
EP', a 4 track effort which allowed the band to gain experience in
the
studio and to showcase their music to a wider audience (If enough
copies had
been made!) A second EP was released in early 2006 and was basically
a stop-gap
cd until the new lovely EP is recorded (Summer 2006.)
2006 has seen the band gigging in and around their native city of
Edinburgh but
by the end of the year several gigs in Britain's major cities will
have taken
place.
The band's sound cannot be pigeon-holed into one genre, although
influences from
he Beatles, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Biffy Clyro, The Coral etc are
noticable
and with hints of heavy rock, ska, pop. There's something for
everyone!
(And maybe the odd cover sometimes!)
Unknown Hagana's vastly growing reputation as one of the best live
acts in Edinburgh
suggests that this is a band worth checking out. And if they
fulfill
the potential shown in recent gigs then there's a chance Hagana
won't
be 'Unknown' for much longer.....
